    Default Help with robots.txt

Just need to double check. I want to block all the search engine bots from a specific directory on my website.

I added robots.txt file to public_html directory (hostgator reseller a/c)
    and added the following text:
    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /secretdir/

The file permissions are 644 - is that all I have to do?

This is a somewhat comprehensive list of SEO forums. If you know of any SEO forums that are missing from this list, feel free to add them in the comments and I may eventually get around to adding them to the list.
